  Sharon Beck, principal of Kā‘u High & Pāhala Elementary School, is the winner of Island Insurance Co.’s 17th annual Masayuki Tokioka Excellence in School Leadership Award. As her prize, Beck received $25,000. She plans to use $15,000 on Olivia devices that will allow school teachers to upload their learning platforms onto Google Classroom.
Alan Pak is vice president and senior business banking officer at Central Pacific Bank. He works in Kailua-Kona and recently won the Lending Officer of the Year Gold Award for West Hawai‘i from the U.S. Small Business Administration Hawai‘i Pacific-Islands District Office. He has more than 20 years of professional banking experience.
