ANSWER TO TODAY’S PUZZLE
                            ‘I’m Here For You’
Undesirable challenges such as layoffs, health crises, death or divorce are a part of life. When others we care about go through hard times, we want to say something comforting, yet often end up not really helping.
4/24/22
For example, saying, “It will be OK” or “You’re going to be fine” denies the painful outcome your friend is fearing. Saying, “I know how you feel” is not helpful either, since you really don’t, as each experience of pain is unique to the person going through it. “Everything happens for a reason” is also not ap- propriate. Though it may be true, they don’t want to hear this as they are going through the pain.
What to say instead? Something like, “I’m here for you” or “How can I help?” shows solid support.
